Greekenslosh Theater
Our first stop is at the Greekenslosh Theater. To honor the Greeks, we created a theater just as they had. Instead of being indoors, its outdoors and the seats are built separately from the stage. We even made it look as if it was crumbling to the ground. As a tradition, the only actors are male and use masks to play multiple characters. Along with that, our theater puts on mostly tragedies, but a few comedies. The Greekenslosh Theater gets the most tourists than any other place in Greekenslosh because we put on many plays that were done in ancient Greece.
House of Government
This is the House of Government of Greekenslosh. Here in Greekenslosh, we run a democracy, which was developed in ancient Greece. Back in those times, Greek cities changed their type of government several times before finding something that worked. Starting with a monarchy, moving on to oligarchy, tyranny, then a democracy. In a democracy, citizens vote for what they would like to have changed. However, here in Greekenslosh, we don't vote on every little change like ancient Greeks did. We get many tourists here interested in how Greek government worked. We let many knowledgeable brains walk away from this building.
Greekenslosh Museum of Art
Our last stop on our tour through Grekenslosh is the art museum. As you may guess, we have many Greek-style art pieces featured in the museum. Now look at the front of the museum, there's a line of columns along the front of the museum. This type of column is called the ionic column. The ionic column sits on a base and has scrolls at the top. The ionic column is one of three types that the Greeks created. Many tourists come here for art, but everyone that comes has experienced Greek culture.
