Meal Assistance and P-EBT Information for WLWV Families
The federal government has granted states authority to provide Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) for the entire 2020-21 school year. Oregon has received approval to begin providing benefits to eligible students. Benefits will be given to families of qualified students retroactively, providing food benefits to families whose children are missing the free or reduced-price meals typically provided at school.
P-EBT is now available for qualified West Linn-Wilsonville families (those who qualify for free and reduced lunch). Families who are eligible are encouraged to sign up for free and reduced lunch now to ensure they receive P-EBT benefits. Families who are signed up for free and reduced lunch are not required to fill out any additional information to receive P-EBT benefits. To learn more, please visit the nutrition services website, or access the informational flier below.
Families can also begin signing up for free and reduced lunch for the 2021-22 school year beginning July 1. For sign up information, please visit the nutrition services website.
TIME TO UPDATE YOUR LISTSERV SUBSCRIPTIONS!
As we head into summer and gear up for the 2021-22 school year, now is a great time to update your ListServ subscriptions. Make sure to access your ListServ subscriptions and subscribe to your new school if you have a student graduating or changing schools. And don't forget to subscribe to WLWV-Homes to keep up-to-date on important District-level information.
ListServ is the primary method that West Linn-Wilsonville schools communicate with families, sending regular newsletters, timely information, and even emergency notifications. To sign up to get news from your school, simply go to www2.wlwv.k12.or.us/News/LatestNews/ListservSS/ and follow the directions.
Summer Updates from the IT Department
As the school year winds down, the IT department wanted to pass on some important updates. Please be sure to at least scan over each section below in order to determine if it applies to you.
If you checked out a Chromebook and are planning to return to a WLWV school in the fall, we invite you to keep it over the summer. In the fall, you should expect to bring it to your school even if it is a different school than you borrowed it from. Graduating seniors should be returning their Chromebook to school according to directions from their specific school. If you are moving out of the district over the summer and currently have a Chromebook, please contact your school office so that arrangements can be made for you to drop it (and its power cable) off.
As you keep your Chromebook over the summer, please make sure it gets charged routinely - a fully drained battery can potentially damage the device. It is important that the devices be properly cared for, including keeping food and drink away from them, and not allowing prolonged exposure to the sun. Even over the summer, you are expected to follow the guidelines that were a condition of checking out a Chromebook.
Google accounts for students returning in the fall should be unimpacted over the summer with notable exceptions for 3 groups of students:
1) Seniors: Accounts for seniors will be disabled over the summer, likely in mid-July. Seniors should retrieve anything they need before that time.
2) Current 5th graders becoming 6th graders in the fall: Student login names will transition to represent their middle school. The middle school login will be the first 7 letters of last name and first initial followed by @<school>.wlwv.k12.or.us where <school> is "acms" for Athey Creek, "iwms" for Inza Wood, "mcms" for Meridian Creek, or "rrms" for Rosemont Ridge. Information and documents stored within the accounts should remain unchanged - in fact, it is not a new account - it is just a different username (email address) on the account. Even the password should remain what it was before.
3) Current 8th graders becoming 9th graders in the fall: Student login names will transition to represent their high school. The high school login will likely be the first 7 letters of last name and first initial followed by @<school>.wlwv.k12.or.us where <school> is "wlhs" for West Linn High, "wvhs" for Wilsonville High, or "aths" for Arts & Technology High. Information and documents stored within the accounts should remain unchanged - in fact, it is not a new account - it is just a different username (email address) on the account. Even the password should remain what it was before.
(There are rare cases where a username has a digit added to avoid a duplication. If you have trouble getting in, let us know.)
The specific date of this transition is not known at this time. After mid-July if you were a 5th grader or 8th grader during 20-21 and encounter issues with logging in, you should try your anticipated new school email address for 21-22. There is a pretty good chance that this transition will have occurred.
Naviance for Graduating Seniors: Over the summer, your district-provided Google and Email accounts will be disabled. This means that the way you currently access Naviance will no longer work. Since you may need access to Naviance in the future for a variety of reasons, we highly recommend that you log into Naviance now and change your email address and username to a personal email account. Your new password will need to meet Naviance’s minimum password requirements. As soon as you change your username, you will no longer be able to log into Naviance with Google.
To change your email address, log into Naviance, then go to About Me -> My Account -> Edit in Contact area. To change your user name, go to About Me -> My Account -> Security. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND YOUR USERNAME. That is two different things that should both be set to the same personal email address. After these changes are made and you log out, you will now login using the "Parent/Guardian/Alumni" option of the login screen.
Apply for the Long Range Planning Committee Today!
The Long Range Planning Committee is a seven member citizen committee responsible for guiding the development of the Long Range Plan, that provides a rational framework for evaluating and addressing future school facility needs as the West Linn and Wilsonville areas grow. Interested community members can learn more about the Long Range Planning Committee on the district website.
INTERESTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO APPLY TODAY

Community members are also encouraged to sign up for project updates by signing up for Capital Bond Project ListServs.
Summer Reading Reminder From West Linn and Wilsonville Public Libraries
2021-22 School Options
Students enrolled in the district will have TWO learning options during the 2021-22 School Year:
- Option One: Attend Neighborhood School Fully In-Person, Everyday
We look forward to beginning the new school year with our students fully on-site, every day, for their learning experience. With the recently changed safety protocol of physical distancing (3 feet) by the Oregon Health Authority, all WLWV schools will begin the 2021-2022 school year with five, full days of in-person instruction typical of past years. Students who choose this option can expect a “normal” model of on-site learning.
Optional Blended Learning Courses, G. 9 - 12
We have learned a great deal this year about how a successful format of remote learning can benefit many students. Therefore, we plan to offer several courses in a Blended Learning format (remote and in-person learning) for interested high school students, next year and beyond. Students will have the option to take 1-2 courses online taught by a WLWV teacher, in selected subject areas, while still enrolled in their other courses on-site. Blended Learning courses may vary in their set up. Some may be more structured for whole class participation, occasional on-site labs or check-ins with aligned course pacing. Other classes may be less structured, more individualized, and students will determine their own pace towards completion of their course. Students taking a Blended Learning course can expect to engage in some learning in-person at school and some learning remotely. Students/families can view the Blended Learning options offered at their school when they work with their school on “forecasting” for next year.
- Option Two: Enroll in WLWV K12 Online Academy (WKOA) - Grades K-12
For the 2021-2022 school year, the District will continue offering a fully online, remote learning option for students who reside in the district. The online academy will continue to utilize the K12 Stride (formerly FuelEd) digital curriculum for academic content.
The structure of WKOA (formerly called WKOP) will be set up differently than it was during the pandemic. Read more about the WKOA structure for 2021-22 on the district website.
The Two Learning Options for 2021-2022 School Year visual may be helpful to use when determining a family’s plans for enrollment next year.
