Raptor System
Our Lady of Fatima is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System to strengthen campus security and safety for students and faculty. Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. The Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff.
Here is how it will work: Upon entering the building, visitors will be asked to present an ID, such as a Driver’s License, which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. If a parent or guardian for any reason does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the Raptor system. The Raptor system will check to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our school campuses without our knowledge. The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork. A visitor's badge will not be necessary for parents attending morning assembly, but parents are not allowed to come down the hall to the main office after assembly while students are dismissing.
The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor visitor management system allows us to quickly identify those that may present a danger to our students. Thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the school safety protocols in our campus.

Masks are permitted during the parade ONLY.They may not be worn during instruction time. No face paint permitted. Costumes should be loosely based on book characters, however there is no need to bring books.

Athletics Update
Girls' Volleyball - Our volleyball season is sadly coming to a close. Tomorrow (10/12) our Lady Falcons travel to True Cross in Dickinson. This will be their final away game. Then, next Monday (10/15), our Lady Falcons will host their final home game and final game of the 2018-2019 season. Please come out and support our Lady Falcons and help close out this season with your cheers!
Boys' Basketball - Boys' basketball is well underway with practices starting October 22nd. We are currently conditioning and our season starts November 7th. AD/Coach Lopez and the boys are ready to take the court, and ready to see you cheer them on!
Girls' Basketball - Girls' basketball looks good to go moving forward and fielding a team. Ms. Leonard and several volunteers have offered their help to ensure our girls can play this year, so many thanks go to her and our volunteers! More details will be posted next week. Stay TUNED!
Cheerleading - Have you been at our home volleyball games? If not, WHY NOT? You've missed our volleyball team, AND our cheer squads (JV and Varsity). Ms. Pursley and Ms. Guerra are doing great things with our cheer squads, and they look awesome and ready to cheer our teams! Great job!

Dear Fatima Families:
Exodus 17:12 tells the tale of Moses' hands as he held up the stone that lead the Israelites to victory. In this story, the reader also learns that Moses' hand grew tired and so he was flanked on each side by Aaron and Hur. What a valuable lesson this teaches us about needing others. God designed us to be in relationships. We are in relationships with many others and most importantly with Him. Likewise, we are all in a relationship together as parents, students, school, and staff. This relationship is vital to the productivity, maintenance, and very livelihood of our school. Within this relationship, as within any healthy relationship, there is the expectation of boundaries. While I know it is the norm for parents and friends and family members to walk around campus, please support our efforts to better secure our grounds. As our school body grows, so does the need to implement structure and boundaries. We are asking all parents, old and new, to respect that, knowing that these decisions are made for your scholars’ safety and security. The vision to grow Fatima cannot be done without our parents flanking our side and holding our arms up. We need your support. We need that relationship with each of you as we grow and expand. As we move forward, please trust us and the process, even when it isn’t “the way it’s always been…” Change and growth are hard, sometimes even painful. I know that Fatima is literally flanked by parents and families willing to endure that growth with us, and for that I am very grateful. Thank you all. Blessings.
Mrs. Lopez
