Thank you to the EXCEL Foundation for funding projects at Fernan!

About the EXCEL Foundation:

The EXCEL Foundation funds grants to teachers for innovative classroom projects in Coeur d'Alene School District 271. These projects would not be funded with ongoing school maintenance dollars. Funding is meant to improve the learning experience of students and encourage teachers with creative approaches to education.

The Vision of the EXCEL Foundation:

The EXCEL foundation continues to maintain a recognizable visibility in the community as an organization committed to excellence in education, and is a vehicle for individuals and organizations in the community to make a difference in education through volunteer efforts, contributions, and gifts.


EXCEL Grant Recipients Our resource room teachers share some of the books received with their Excel grant. These books focus on a variety of skills including parts of speech, rhyming, letters in the alphabet, math and social emotional topics.	EXCEL Grant Recipients Our kindergarten teachers can barely be seen next to their hands-on discovery materials. These scientific inquiry sets include topics such as biology, physics, geology, forces and chemistry.	EXCEL Grant Recipient Mrs. Brott received a grant including these wooden alphabet and animals stamps. The theme for this awarded grant was 'Service with a Smile!'
