Next Week: Conferences & Thanksgiving
Next week is Parent/Teacher Conferences and the Thanksgiving break. As you participate in conferences, you have the opportunity to focus on your child as a learner and discover ways you can partner with your child's teacher to support them. Each conference is 20 minutes and the schedule is tight so it is important that you are on time whether in-person or virtual. This year it is especially important for home and school to work together. Our goal is to strengthen our students' foundational learning as they progress this year both academically and social-emotionally. Your role is critical for this to happen no matter what grade level your child(ren) is/are in.
When we return from break, please monitor your child(ren) for any COVID symptoms as I know there will be some travel and celebrating with family members outside your day-to-day community. This Healthy=Here booklet has been updated and will answer many questions you may have if a family member begins to show symptoms of illness. The D44 COVID HUB has additional resources and links. District #44 also offers free COVID testing for students and their families that you have read about in a previous newsletter. Please see below for changes to those testing sites.
Students will continue to go outside for mask breaks and recess so outerwear will be a daily necessity as we are out as long as the wind chill is 10 degrees and above.
This is also the time we celebrate Thanksgiving. Although our lives have been topsy-turvy navigating through a pandemic, it is important to focus on gratitude for our own mental health. So I will share with all of you how incredibly grateful I am for Park View. The students, the families, our PTA, the staff and the district give me great hope for the future. In this same spirit each year we reach out and try our best to support those within the PV community during the holidays. Please see our flyer regarding Snowflakes of Sharing and thank you for considering.
Information & Upcoming changes to D44 COVID-19 Testing Sites
