The Elements
The Elements is an iOS app that visually explores the periodic table of elements in a visual and interactive way. There are also many different informations not included on a regular periodic table that can be found on this app. This will allow students to be more engaged when simply learning the basics of the different elements. In class, this can be used to replace a peridic table of elements because it will allow students to search for their elements they need to receive all the information they require.
Frog Dissection
Frog Dissection is a useful app that replaces the age old dissection of a frog. While there is no replacing the actual dissection of the frog, this app can be used for those who feel uncomfortable doing it, or simply as a pre-lesson or post-lesson refresher.
Dictionary.com
Dictionary.com is an app that can replace your dictionary and even your thesaurus. It can be used easily by students because they can search the word they are looking for without having to search through the dictionary. This will make students more comfortable using it in classroom and their vocabulary will grow because they will use it more.
History: Maps of the World
This app will let students view different maps across the world from different ages. This will be useful in Social Studies class because it can supplement the maps in class and the textbook and give more context about how things might have shifted across the years.
Starchart
Starchart is a very useful app when talking about Astronomy. Although astronomy is not official taught in the curriculum, when talking about physics, it is a great way to engage the students because it shows them practical uses of physics especially using the gravitational constant equation in a visual way. It also includes information and details about different astronomical objects.
Quizlet
Quizlet is a great app that can be used as a review before exams. While it is not the greatest for new information, it is excellent to review. Students can find flashcards pre-made on the website, or they can make their own. The other option is that the teacher can provide a study guide in the form of flashcards with questions that the students can use to study for their exams.
