Land Application Trainings
Each workshop will include an update on regulations and discussion on how to best use manure on farm operations. Attending all-day sessions will meet requirements for Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Land Application Training. Afternoon or evening sessions will meet needs for recertification. Pre-registration is required and is available at water.unl.edu/lat. Cost is $75 per operation.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability will present a land management workshop in McCook to address financial resiliency for agricultural operations to sustain risk while remaining profitable.
“Building Farm and Ranch Resiliency in the Age of Financial Uncertainty” will be presented from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 2 at the 4-H Building on the Red Willow County Fairgrounds, W. 5th St in McCook.
The workshop will cover cash rental rates, land values, leasing strategies, landlord-tenant communication, farm and ranch succession planning and an overview of farm programs for landowners. It will be presented by Nebraska Extension educators, who will help operators and landowners to understand financial trends to minimize shocks, develop strategies to facilitate transition, mitigate legal risks and utilize effective management practices to reduce uncertainty.
The meeting is free to attend and expected to last approximately three hours. Registration is required at 308-268-3105 by one day prior to the workshop. More information is available on the Center for Agricultural Profitability’s website, https://cap.unl.edu.
Beef Feedlot Roundtables
Beef feedlot managers, owners, employees and allied industries will learn new information related to feedlot price reporting, health, labor and sustainability at Nebraska Extension’s 2022 Beef Feedlot Roundtables Feb. 22-24 in Bridgeport, North Platte and West Point.
Pre-register for the roundtables online at https://go.unl.edu/2022roundtable by Feb. 18. Cost is $20 at the door. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at each location with welcome and introductions at 1 p.m.. Roundtables will conclude at 4:45 p.m. and refreshments will be served at the meeting.
