Neanderthal
Neanderthals are an extinct species of human in the genus homo, possibly a subspecies of homo sapiens.They are very closely related to modern humans.
Cro-Magnon
is a name that has been used to describe the first early modern humans that lived about 40,000 years ago.
Old Stone Age
another name for the old stone age: Paleolithic Era
how long did it last: 12,000 to 70,000 years ago
ways that man lived or survived:
- hunting-men hunted in groups & antlers might have been used as a disguise
- gathering- crowberry, gooseberry, morel,scurvy grass, wild cabbage
- tools- stone, wood, and bone tools to survive during the old stone age
- hunted animals- like mammoths, reindeer, and wild boar
- used bows, hand axe, flint blades and bone harpoon
- processed food-used flint blade to skin the animal and to butcher a carcass
- fire
- cave art
- nomads-stone age people were nomads, people who had no settled home
- shelters- tents,caves

- The migration of Man
- began to settle in one place
- cared for plants such as barley,wheat,peas, and lentils
- domesticated wild goats, cattle, and sheep'; also plants and animals, corn
- eat grains and small animals, wheat
- agriculture- is the raising of crops and animals; began over a long period of time and in many places. didn't need to travel great distances to gather food
- domestication- to train something to be useful to people
- tools: stone, bone, and wooden tools; new tools copper and bronze were added
Compare and Contrast
Compare: Both have similar features in their body that we are able to recognize as being part of our race. They both had a way to eat, hunt, live, and use tools. They both used their resources very usefully and didn't waste anything no matter what it was. They both used animal skin. Both also used stone as an important tool.
Contrast:In the Neolithic Era they made wall paintings and in the Paleolithic Era they made cave paintings. In Neolithic Era, they used agriculture and tools with polished stones. In the Paleolithic Era, they used fire and rough stone tools. For food in the Neolithic Era they grew crops such as corn, wheat, beans, etc. In the Paleolithic Era they hunted and gathered for their food supply. In the Neolithic Era they lived in mud bricks supported by timber. In the Paleolithic Era they lived in mouths of caves, huts, and skin tents.
