Davenport's Weekly Update
Week of October 11th
Message from the Principal
Dear Davenport Staff & Students,
Greetings,
October 26th is quickly approaching! Please trust that the Dynamic Davenport staff members, are prepared, excited, and looking forward to seeing the students. As we finalize our plans for in-person Hybrid instruction, please be advised that we are ready for a safe return. We have stocked up on PPE, safety reminders are displayed throughout the buildings, and social distancing floor markings have been placed for staff and students to follow.
Also, we have officially mailed out the welcome letters for the students and families. In the envelop you will find the welcome letter providing details and expectations for the return of in-person and all virtual instruction, a name tag to be worn on the first day, a bus pass with the assigned hybrid Group Letter A or B, and a colored note card, pink Group A and orange Group B to identify the assigned groups.
Be well! Have an amazing weekend!
Mrs. Latiya White
Quote of the Week:
“There are two things we should always be 1. raw and 2. ready. When you are raw, you are always ready and when you are ready you usually realize that you are raw. Waiting for perfection is not an answer, one cannot say "I will be ready when I am perfect" because then you will never be ready, rather one must say "I am raw and I am ready just like this right now, how and who I am.”

Student Achievement
Mrs. Petitt's GT Students
Davenport GT students have been working together with the GT students at Miller, Alder and Fernwood to put together a unit on the US government and the 2020 Election. Each Davenport student had a piece to research and then a project to create in order to share that information with others.
The GT department will be putting all presentations together shortly, and sharing them with 3rd-6th grade homeroom teachers as an aide for teaching about the US government and the 2020 Election.

"A Day In the Life of an EHT Student"
Check out the link below produced by Leanna Mullen outlining what a day in the life of our students may look like as we dive into our hybrid schedule on Monday, October 26th.
Stomp Out Those Nasty Germs!
Do I really need to wash my hands for 20 seconds? Scientific studies show that you need to scrub for 20 seconds to remove harmful germs and chemicals from your hands. If you wash for a shorter time, you will not remove as many germs. Make sure to scrub all areas of your hands, including your palms, backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your fingernails.
