Amazing Story!
While on a "turtle patrol" at Breakwater Beach in Brewster last Saturday, Tori came across a cold stunned Kemp's Ridley sea turtle that had washed in with the tide. Knowing exactly what to do, she followed textbook protocol for carefully moving the turtle away from the water, marking the location, and calling the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to notify them of her discovery. The sea turtle was then picked up by Audubon volunteers and transported to the New England Aquarium for rehabilitation. Great Job Tori!! - Ms. Picariello

Project Purple Quilt Brings School Together
How You Can Get Involved:
One of the things Chris Herren talked about was “being good enough” just as we are. In response to his words the Purple Quilt Project has been created. EVERYONE in the school will be asked to create a “quilt square” which will all be joined together showing our connections to one another and why we are all “good enough”..
.
Directions:
You will be given one white square and one purple shape.
Cut ONLY THE PURPLE PAPER: you can cut any shapes out of the purple (see examples)
Glue them onto the white square
In the empty white spaces left write in something that is positive about you. I can be whatever you want, something you are good at, something you did nice for someone, something you are thankful for. Do not write your name
These will then all be assembled into a giant quilt mural and displayed in the hallway.Educating Peers During the Holidays at MRHS

Experiential Learning in Boston
Forty four students and five teacher chaperones visited Faneuil Hall and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston on Monday, December 12. The objective was to put into practice experiential learning at its best. Students engaged in a personal tour of the exhibits. We applied the VTS (visual thinking strategy) by looking at a painting and constructing an interpretation. As our guide explained, “By looking closely at a painting to determine what it might be saying, you are employing a transfer skill that can help you in your everyday life.”
We also learned about the famous theft in 1990 of paintings by Rembrandt, Manet, and Vermeer, which have still not been found.
