Leadership Message
Growing Brains, Sharing Smiles...
What an amazing start-up we have had at JV! From welcoming our littlest learners into kindergarten to seeing the maturity of our grade fours as our new leaders! A sincere appreciation is extended to our parents and families for your trust in the staff at Jean Vanier Catholic School. We recognize the beautiful opportunity and responsibility that is placed in our hands and hearts as we walk with your children on their faith and learning journeys.
Throughout our school, teachers and students have been co-constructing their Classroom Promises. Working through this together supports ownership, responsibility, and commitment for our students to be great JV citizens. Ask your child about their classroom promises.
We LOVE our Monday assemblies! This is one of the times we come together as a faith and learning community to pray, celebrate and move together! We will alternate between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm to accommodate for our afternoon kindergarten. We LOVE to have our families there-please join us anytime! During our weekly assembly we will give our JV village a weekly challenge that relates to our weekly scripture reading. This week we challenged our village to, "say hello to someone you don't know." This weekly challenge will align with our Division theme-"Challenge Accepted-We are EICS".
Emergency Medical Forms
Student Forms & Fees on PowerSchool
Also found on your child's PowerSchool account, under the "Forms and Fees" tab, are many of the consent forms that have been sent out on paper in the past. These forms include the annual field trip consent form which needs to be completed before your child will be allowed to participate in any off-site school activities. Please complete these forms as soon as possible as we have many classes who have field trips planned in the upcoming weeks!
If you have any questions or are having trouble logging into your account or unsure if your forms are complete please contact the school office. Please note, most cell phones do not support the EICS app with regards to PowerSchool forms. Please log into a laptop or desktop to update your information.
Keeping our school safe...Visiting the school Protocol
We also would like to kindly ask parents to wait outside at the doors for your children to be dismissed. Our halls become far too congested to have and extra bodies at the end of the day and students are working hard to learn routines. Thank-you for your cooperation and assistance with ensuring JV is a safe place for all students.

Courses Offered by Strathcona County
Hello Everyone
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. The FSLWs are beginning to be in contact with all the schools, so you should hear from us soon if you have not yet.
I am just forwarding a number of things that I am hoping you will help get the word out for.
First, our fall program guide is up on our website. I am attaching a link for it.
The course we are particularly looking for more clients is our Parachute group, which is a divorce support group for children. I have attached a separate flyer on this.
I am also attaching a poster for our Babysitter Connector event as well as a seminar on self-regulation-there is one for parents and one for early childhood professionals.
Thank you in advance. And we look forward to working with you all again this year.
