Types of Tides
Tides: Are the daily rise and fall of the ocean.
Spring Tides: Extremely high and low tides, they occur when the moon and sun align with the Earth.
Neap Tides: Low tides that occur when the sun and the moon are on opposite sides of the earth meaning they are pulling at the Earth causing extremely low tides .
High Tide: The furthest point that the tide reaches up the beach.
Low Tide: The lowest point that the tide reaches up the beach.
Humpback Whale
Comes to areas with strong tides , to hunt the large amount of plankton that is found in areas.
Carribean Flamingo
These flamingo loves brine shrimp and during low tides will feed on it, it also breeds at this time as there are few predators around and plenty of food.
Raccoon
The raccoon gathers food , mainly its favourite food shell fish, during the spring tides when the tide is low.
