McDill Elementary Parent Newsletter
September 12th, 2022
Hello Timberwolf Families,
Week 1 is in the books! It was so great to have our students back in the building! Hopefully any early jitters are out of the way and our students are looking forward to the remainder of the school year. We are enjoying our newly remodeled areas in the building and are extremely excited to tell students the good news ..... THE PLAYGROUND HAS BEEN INSTALLED! With mulch being added Monday - Wednesday, it will hopefully be open on Thursday.
Mrs. Munoz will be taking PE classes outside the next few days to go over playground expectations. That way, when the mulch is done being laid, we are ready to go! A huge thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding.
In addition to the excitement of the playground, we look forward to having our Grandparents / Special Friends in the building again this Friday. Please know that our visitors will be entering the building through the main front doors that day. Visitors will register in the lobby area and then be directed to a waiting area prior to being released for lunch. Payment for lunch can be made by cash or check, or by taking it out of the student's lunch account. I have been told that this is a wonderful event at McDill, and I am excited to be part of bringing back the tradition this year.
And lastly, I invite you to the first PTO Meeting for the year as all parents are strongly encouraged and welcome to attend!

I look forward to another great year!

IMPORTANT PICK-UP / DROP-OFF UPDATE
- Starting Monday, Sept. 12th, our 4K families will use School Street to drop off and pick up their little ones. Please understand that this is ONLY for our 4K families and is being done for safety reasons. The pick-up time for these families is 11:40 am, Monday-Thursday.
- Parents/Guardians SHOULD NOT park on WILLOW STREET or BEECH STREET and cross School Street to pick up their child. This is an unsafe practice even if the child is accompanied by an adult.
- Parents/Guardians SHOULD NOT park in the parking lot and walk across the pick-up lane. The line to pick up students actually moves quite quickly when everyone follows procedures.

. . COMMON SENSE MEDIA . .
The secret to becoming a better parent for digital age kids
Do you ever wonder if the apps, games, movies, and books your children consume online and on their devices are safe and age-appropriate? It is not a secret. Common Sense Media is a trusted resource for thousands of schools and families. They provide reviews of apps, games, books, movies, and T.V. shows for parents that give clear information to parents about content, safety, and privacy. The Stevens Point Area Public School District relies heavily on these reviews when selecting library materials and educational resources. You can find reviews for most digital materials online at https://www.commonsensemedia.org/
