The Lance
January 19-February 1
Extended Absence Form
In the September 20 and October 4 editions of the Lance I had shared our procedure of what to do if family travel is going to occur during days when school is in session. I'd like to take this time to reiterate that if your child has travel plans, it is required that they obtain an Extended Absence Request from the office and have it filled out and returned 5 days in advance of the first day of their absence. This provides time for staff to prepare work if necessary and for communication to take place if required. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding this matter.

The Positivity Project
In our first week back in 2019 we have been discussing the character strength of PERSEVERANCE. Next week we will discuss HOPE. It's great that we are discussing these two together, because if one has HOPE then the ability to PERSEVERE through a challenge seems all the more possible.
