NOTES TO 4-H MEMBERS
Career Portfolio & Achievement Application - Due October 1
The fair is over, the excitement settled, and it’s time for 4-H members to record your accomplishments for the year. October 1 is right around the corner - the time to submit your Career Portfolio or Achievement Application. No project records required. We want to recognize all youth for your achievements.
- County-level: Career Portfolio or Junior Achievement Application (ages 8-14), Senior Achievement Application (ages 15-18).
- State Level: Nebraska 4-H will ONLY accept Senior Achievement Applications.
The 4-H Council will award $2.00 per member to clubs whose membership has 100% completion of the forms turned in to the Extension Office by October 1. All names on your club membership printout are included.
Click the link below for Gage County Awards & Recognition information including: Career Portfolio, Achievement Application & Gage County 4-H Awards Application. All materials are also available at the Extension Office.
Diamond Clover Program - Reports Due October 1
Everyone needs and deserves to be recognized. We hope 4-H members will get involved and get recognized. We suggest that each club adopt this as a club goal and work on each member achieving one level per year. Basically, the requirements are things 4-H members are already accomplishing. Why not recruit one parent/leader or team to carry out the program for your club. It’s the perfect time to set up teen/youth mentors - older youth teaming with younger members. The six levels have an age designation; youth start at your current 4-H age. Achieve one level/ year; turn in report form October 1. Your club is encouraged to set up a recognition of your members who achieve Diamond Clover levels. Certificates are awarded at the annual fall Achievement program.

Citizenship Washington Focus
Gage, Jefferson & Saline CWF group is planning on traveling to Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City and surrounding areas in 2022. This is an excellent opportunity for 9-12 grade youth to experience the history of our nation and to become civically engaged in our community. The approximate cost of the trip is around $2000 per youth. We will be flying out of Omaha and the trip will last 10 days. At this time, we don’t have dates set, but we are trying to get a count on how many participants we will have before making reservations. If you’re interested in attending CWF in 2022, please call the Extension Office.
Fundraising:
Red Wheel Frozen Food Fundraiser - Brochure/order forms will be sent out the end of September. Selling dates are October 4-21 ; turn in orders by October 22. Pick up at the Extension Office, Saturday, November 30, 8:30 -9:30 am. Get out there and sell and make some money to offset cost of the trip.
Village Pie Maker: Orders due October 22, pick-up November 20
Pinecrest Tree Farm-More details to come later this month.
Rada Fundraiser-Online Fundraiser, orders will be due December 6 to ensure they are here by Christmas. Catalogs will be sent out later on.
