LEAD Intermediate Newsletter
November Edition
Greetings from the Principal....
Hello LEAD Family,
We have made it to November! Where does the time go? The month of October was filled with learning and engaging activities at LEAD Academy Intermediate! Although October is one of the longest months of the year, it always goes quickly. During the month of October, we celebrated Red Ribbon Week by discussing the negative effects of drugs and alcohol, held Parent Teacher Conference Day, and kicked off our PBIS Incentive Program.
As you know, November is gratitude month. Sometimes we are so busy with our day to day schedules that we miss the small things that are happening around us such as a smile from a colleague, the sparkle in the eye of a scholar, or a simple hello from a stranger in passing. We may miss those things if we are always focused on the next item on our daily agenda. Gratitude helps us to shift from focusing on the negatives to appreciating what is positive in our lives. I encourage each of you to take time this month and in fact each and every day to focus on the positives and be grateful for the small things because the small things are what go together to make the BIG things important.
In doing so, parents and guardians, I ask that you please email a teacher and/ or a staff member during the week of Nov 14- 18 to show gratitude for working diligently to engage scholars in learning and model positive character and integrity. Please thank them for what they do! You would be surprised how something so simple could make a large impact on someone's life.
Parents and/or guardians, THANK YOU for entrusting and choosing LEAD Academy Intermediate as your choice school for your scholar. It is my goal to ensure that each scholar receives a quality education. Let’s continue to grow and build.
As always, If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. Your opinions are valued.
Professionally yours,
Mr.Coleman
A message from the Nurse...
Parents, we need your help!
As we continue to review Health Assessments, we have identified a number of scholars who report having asthma but only use an inhaler at home. If you marked that your child has asthma on the Health Assessment, we strongly encourage you to have an asthma inhaler available for scholar to use at school. If your scholar has an asthma flare-up at school and we do not have an inhaler available, emergency personnel will be called. We have attached a PPA form that your health care provider needs to complete and we ask that you please sign it as well. Please return the completed form along with an asthma inhaler to the school nurse's office:

As Flu season approaches, we want to remind everyone to get their flu vaccine. Vaccinations are readily available and the best protection against the flu. Please take a look at the attached CDC Flu guide for parents:
