END OF SEMESTER ~ Semester 1 ends this Wednesday, January 30 at 11:59 pm. We encourage all scholars to ensure their assignments are submitted before 11:59 pm this Wednesday so they are graded and counted for your final grades. Question on your assignments, calendar, and/or gradebook? Reach out to your teacher before the semester ends this Wednesday! Finish strong!
ENERGY BUS ~ Energy Bus tip of the week- Always remember, “better an oops than a what if!” Also, don’t forget to check out this week’s Make a Difference Monday Message from the Energy Bus.
MID-WINTER BREAK ~ Scholars do not have school this upcoming Thursday and Friday, January 31 and February 1, for our Mid-Winter Break! We encourage our scholars to take this time to recharge before the start of Second Semester next Monday, February 4.
NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK ~ We will be celebrating National School Counseling Week from Monday, February 4 through Friday, February 8! This is a week dedicated to showing your counselors the positive impact they make in scholar’s lives. Check out the website for posters you can download and decorate. PARENT TOWN HALLS ~ February is the month that we are hosting our third quarterly Parent Town Hall with the Superintendent! Learn more and RSVP through our ParentSquare calendar!
K-8 SCHOOL NEWS
ISTATION DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENTS ~ It’s that time again! Mid-year Istation diagnostic assessments will be held the first week of February. It’s very important that all K-8 scholars take their iStation assessments so we know where our scholars are academically, which will allow us to better help them reach their goals!
4TH AND 5TH GRADE READING ~ Join Ms. Kenbeek tomorrow, Tuesday, January 29 at 1 pm in her Virtual Classroom to participate in a close reading of “3D PRINTING AIDS ANIMALS.”
GRADE IMPROVEMENT WORKSHOP ~ All 6 and 8th graders are invited to join Ms. Angelo today, tomorrow, and this Wednesday, January 30, from 9 am to 12 pm in her Virtual Classroom to get help raising your grades before semester one ends. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDY HALL ~ Join Ms. Talcott today, tomorrow, and this Wednesday, January 30, at 3 pm in her Virtual Classroom for Middle School Study Hall! Have your questions ready and get the support you need from one of our online teachers.
MISS D.’S SUCCESS TIP OF THE WEEK ~ Semester one ends this Wednesday, can you believe it? All assignments for semester one are due by January 30 at 11:59 pm. If you are behind and need help developing an action plan this week to finish the semester strong, reach out to your teacher today and ask for help! Also remember that middle school scholars need a 60% or higher to pass their courses.
ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL NEWS
AVID ~ How do you study? Do you prefer to listen to information, would you rather see it, or do you learn best by doing? If you know your learning preferences, you can tailor your study habits to your own style and be more successful. Complete the inventories listed below to find out which learning style may work best for you. Once you complete the inventories, reflection on how you prefer to receive information. You may find you can study certain subjects better by using different strategies, a good learner can use all types.
GRADE BOOK INFORMATION ~ Please review the informational meeting recording titled Understanding your grade book to ensure that your scholar is reading their grade book correctly. If you have further questions, please reach out to your scholar’s teacher.
END OF SEMESTER 1 ~ The last day to complete all work for Semester 1 is this Wednesday, January 30 at 11:59 pm. Remember, reach out to teachers before 5 pm this Wednesday for answers to questions or assignment resets. We know our high school scholars will finish strong! We look forward to the spring semester that starts next Monday, February 4.
COUNSELING SERVICES
COLLEGE FAIRS ONLINE ~ Our scholars are invited to a free virtual college fair for the western region of the United States! This fair is scheduled for today, January 28 through this Saturday, February 2. Scholars can log on any time during this week to get information from many colleges. There is a question and answer section for the scholars to get answers directly from college representatives. If you are interested please go to www.collegefairsonline.com and click on the students tab to register ASAP and you will receive an email the day before the fair starts.
