Iroquois Tribe

Area
They live in what is now today
New York state near
St. Lawerence River and
between the Adirondack
Mountains and Nigara
Falls.
Longhouse
Each tribe lives in two
longhouses that can hold
30-60 indians. These houses
are about 150ft long.
Traditions
The oral tradition recounts
the beginning of the
Iroquois confederacy and
specifies that young
warriors staged
a Lacrosse
game.
Food
They mostly eat corn, turkey,
lobster, fish, beans, tacos,
and corn pudding.

1.The boys weren’t allowed to
hunt with the other men until they
caught something their self.
2.They were mainly farmers.
3. Their most favorite food
was corn cakes.
4. The women were more
powerful than men.
