Big picture

In addition to being Respect Life Month, October is also the month of the Rosary. In October, we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Our Lady was a great example of defending human life. The Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary is a great way to pray in this important month. Click the button below for a multimedia version of the Novena by Norbertine Fathers at St. Michael's Abbey in Orange County, California.

The Story Of A Woman Respecting Life

RESTORED: Stories of Encounter - Ep1: Connie McEldowney

What does it mean to respect life? It’s more than prayers. It’s even more than marching in Washington D.C. and standing outside abortion clinics. Watch the incredibly beautiful story of Connie McEldowney, the founder and director of Rustic Hope. Rustic Hope is an organization that offers physical, emotional and spiritual support to mothers in need. After watching the video, ponder these questions:

  • In what ways do you respect life?
  • What practical steps can you take to live out what you believe?
  • Why is it so important that those who respect life take action?

The Beauty of Womanhood Podcast

Big picture

People are good. You might not think that if you listen to traditional news, but that’s a lie. Everyday heroes and saints live among us and the goal of the "Do Something Beautiful" podcast is to introduce them. Inspired by the words of Mother Teresa, “Do something beautiful for God. Do it with your life. Do it every day. Do it in your own way. But do it!” Leah Darrow, former model and contestant on America’s Next Top Model, draws on her experience in the beauty industry to expose the lies told about women's worth being tied to appearance and instead invites us to look again at the real meaning of beauty in service to mankind. What a great way to enter into this Respect Life Month.
