Your Last Hurrah!
Objective: Create a compelling presentation that encourages others that your book should be #1 on their Summer Reading List
Step 1: Create a Smore
It's Easy. Smore.com - then you just make it pretty!
Step 2: Establish the Context
What does your audience need to know about the setting to understand where the novel is coming from?

Provide vivid description, text evidence, and explanation that analyzes the significance of the setting of the story.

Political Contexts?

Significance to Your Peers
Text-to-Self Connections: How does this text hold significance for the modern young adult reader? Provide real world examples to SHOW, not just tell.
Literary Value
Text-to-Text Connections: How does this text echo motifs / lenses present in other great literature? Provide quotes from multiple texts to SHOW, not just tell.
Step 4: Write a Review
This will be the most "academic" part of your presentation.
You will write a review (using the instructions on the UNC page below) that includes an Introduction, Summary, Analysis & Evaluation, and Conclusion. Be sure you convince your audience WHY this book should be #1 on their summer reading list! You will publish these on Amazon and Goodreads.
POST your review HERE in your Smore.
Step 5: Create a "60 Second Recap"-type Video for your Book and embed it into your Smore.
Use QuickTime or iMovie (or the application of your choice!), then upload to YouTube to create a Review video of your novel and embed it into your Smore.
An example (and many others!) of what I am looking for is HERE. <-Examine this for both CONTENT and STRUCTURE. Remember your "Objective!"A Thousand Splendid Suns (Book Review)
Step 6: List "Other Books Like This"
so that your audience can identify it with other books and authors they may have read or may WANT to read (as #2 on their summer reading list, of course!) after your amazing presentation convinces them that your book needs to be #1!
Step 7: Tweet your Smore @_MrsBrownlee AND -if your author is alive and on Twitter, to your author, too!!
We seriously have authors who respond respond every time we do this - so cool!!
Be sure to leave the "Comments" section active and the URL intact. Maybe Smore.com will notice, too!Event Information
