Quick Reminders

  1. SUBSCRIBE to the ROHS Learning Commons Blog! : ]
  2. Please monitor when students take devices out of the carts and also when they put them back in. Carts are coming back missing cords/plugs, messy, and not charged.
  3. Please practice professional courtesy and return carts to their correct locations at the end of the day.
  4. IF you need technology set up, please submit a ticket to Oakland Schools. (Directory > 435)


Need help thinking of ways to integrate this into what you are teaching? Contact Alyssa Reimold! We have 4 currently for small groups! : ]


Have a project where students need to collaborate and/or share their work? Come down to the LC and use the new collaboration stations! These stations act as a larger screen that students can use their device to mirror off to and share their work or work collaboratively on their projects. Each one of the six collaboration stations accommodates 5-6 students.

  • Sign them out on the ROHS Checkout Document
  • Remember we are a BYOD school, so have students bring their devices in!

Substitute Laptops

We have TWO laptops designated for substitute use in the event there is a teacher absence and the teacher lesson plans call for technology use. Please make sure to contact Becky Stremmell to alert her that your sub will need a laptop or they will not be given one when they sign-in and pick up their sub folder.

Book Checkout

Self-checkout is up! Students NEED to have their student IDs to check out books. They can put them on hold if they want to come back.


Apple TV Update:

The OS team has made adjustments to the network in order to remedy the connectivity issue. Make sure your iPad bluetooh is turned on to connect. Your Apple TV is a great resource to use for modeling, showing digital resources and examples.

This is information from the board office. This option has been opened to teachers to look up Student MiStar passwords.

  1. New Applications
  2. Enrollment
  3. Reports
  4. Student Connect Passwords
  5. Create or Export Report


  • STUDENT PASSWORD RESETS: please call Oakland Schools (Directory > 435) to reset passwords. Remember, students who try unsuccessfully to login 3 or more times get locked out.
  • SUBSTITUTES: please do not send your classes down with subs to the Learning Commons.
  • COPIES: IF you have class-size overage you can utilize the paraprofessionals above the LC from 9:30-11:30. If you do not have class-size overage, unfortunately you will need to make your own copies as there is no one else designated to do this.

    If there is a hardware issue or damage to a laptop/chromebook/ipad please do the following:

    1. Submit a ticket through Oakland Schools. ( Directory > 435 /
    2. Detail what the issue is, the cart #, and chromebook #.
    3. Put a note on the cart to alert your colleagues that there is an issue so they can plan accordingly.
    4. Do NOT bring it to the LC. Andrew will come pick it up from the cart.
