Unit 3: Music Is A Personal Experience

Unit Overview - this unit covers musical expression and movement.

Welcome to a New Year as well as a new instructional Unit in General Music/Chorus. Within this unit student will explore moving to and performing various music styles and genres. Students will participate in song stories, singing games, and musical dramatizations as well as create movements to music while being sensitive to tempo and style of music. Students will be able to identify musical phrases while exploring tempos and dynamics from music all around the world.

ATTENTION - 3rd, 4th & 5th GRADE PARENTS/STUDENTS - It's Music Project Time!

The 3rd, 4th & 5th grade general music students are required to complete a music research project that will be graded and count for 20% of the Unit 3 -Semester 1 grade. The projects are to be completed digitally and the guidelines/rubric can be found at the following link:

Students have also been provided a hard copy of this information and rubric. All projects are to be completed digitally and are to be submitted on the day that general music occurs on the week of February 8th thru 12th (they day that student comes to music during the deadline week!)!

CONGRATULATIONS STES 4th & 5th Grade Chorus

On December 16, 2015 the Stonewall Tell E.S. 4th & 5th Chorus performed at the Governor's Mansion! Students were a part of the holiday festivities and had the honor of meeting the first lady Mrs. Deal - way to go STES Chorus!
