School Closure Update
I am, I can, I ought, I will
From the Desk of Mrs. Flora and Mrs. Vosburg
Dear Ambleside Families,
Ambleside School of San Angelo will continue the preventative closure into the week of March 23rd-27th. The health and safety of our students, their families and our faculty are our priority and feel that we should do what we can to stop the spread. We will continue to monitor the situation and make calls about future closure dates beyond March 27th as we work with health and education agencies.
For the week of March 23rd plan to pick up supplies at designated times that will be sent via each teacher if any supplies are needed. Our upper and middle school students have already begun using online platforms to create a virtual classroom. Our elementary teachers for grades 2-6 will begin using online platforms next week. In order to prepare for this we are asking families to download the zoom app if you will be participating via a phone or tablet device, if using a desktop please visit the zoom website https://zoom.us. You will receive emails from your teacher with meeting IDs and times you will use that link to join the meeting during the given time. This is new to all of us so I ask that we extend grace to one another as we work through glitches that may occur. If you can have zoom downloaded and check your camera and microphone by calling a friend it will help tremendously. If internet or a cell phone is not available to a student please contact your child’s teacher directly they will have a alternate plan. Zoom will be out primary platform for direct instruction that allows the students to engage with their teacher. Our teachers will also utilize YouTube videos they have created, FaceBook (Mrs. Reynolds already has nature study trivia posted) and email. Each teacher will approach their instruction for at home learning that best suits their classroom and grade level. We are utilizing guidance from ASI to ensure the time spent away from campus is full of meaningful and worthy work.
We continue to pray for those infected, those in the medical field and the leaders making decisions to keep us safe.
Every Blessing,
Ambleside Administration and Board
