COLLEGE & CAREER CORNER
We have another AWESOME opportunity for any 11th or 12th grade student interested in visiting Georgia Northwestern Technical College for Industrial Career Day and then participate in an industry tour. Industrial Career Day at GNTC is an opportunity for students to learn about the programs and degrees offered by Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Participation is limited to the first 50 students to sign up.
Based on the chart attached and all other economic development data, there is a HUGE need for people to consider attending technical colleges and earning certificates, diplomas, and 2-year degrees to feel the gap of job openings over the next several years.
The deadline for sign up on the form for this college tour and industry tour is Tuesday, October 18. Students will receive field trip forms by October 19th and forms are due to be submitted completed on the table inside the Media College and Career Center by Friday, October 21st.

AP TESTING REGISTRATION- NOV. 1ST
It's that time of year when we need students to start registering for AP Exams. Although AP Exams are not taken until May, the CollegeBoard requires us to sign up in the fall. Mrs. Green (AP Coordinator) sent out a form last week to all students via their school email to register for AP Exams. The first page of the form is for students to indicate which exams they are taking. The second page of the form has the student type their name in understanding that they are committing to take the exam and that no refunds will be given. The third page of the form explains how students can calculate how much they will be paying.
Payment can be made three ways: card, cash, or check. You can use this link to pay electronically, but please note that regular exams are $100 and free and reduced exams are $56 when paying with a card. You can pay with cash or check for $97 for regular exams and $53 for free and reduced exams. If students are unsure of how much they owe based on the instructions in the form, they should ask their AP teacher or Mrs. Green before making a payment. It is easier for us to answer your question than to issue a refund 🙂
If a student is having a hard time deciding if they should take an exam for a particular class, we would encourage them to discuss the concerns with their teacher. The AP teacher can help guide students in making that decision.
Click here to access the form to sign up for AP Exams. This form and payment must be submitted by Tuesday, November 1. As always, students can reach out to Mrs. Green if they have any questions. Also, if you have not signed up for the AP Remind, text @chsap222 to 81010.
