Separation of Powers
The separation of powers, is a model for the governance of both democratic & federative states.The Legistlative branch makes and passes laws. In the Federal Government and most states this is the House and the Senate.
Checks and Balances
The system of checks and balances is an important part of the Constitution. With checks and balances, each of the three branches of government can limit the powers of the others. This way, no one branch becomes too powerful.
Individual rights
A person's liberty and privilege garanteed by U.S. citizens by Bill of Rights.
Now people can vote, protest, write petitions, and have a voice.
Federalism
A political concept in which a group of members are bound together by covenant. Money plays a key role in the federal government's relationship with the states. Congress gives money to the states.
