From The Principal
Kia ora koutou,
It has been great to see such strong attendance and enthusiasm during the first week back (notwithstanding those currently affected by COVID isolation requirements) as the children return to their learning in classes once more.
During Orange setting, we will continue to publish our case numbers online so that parents are able to make informed decisions about when and if they wish to test their child: https://www.mteden.school.nz/covid
While we are all aware that COVID is still very much in the community, finding the balance between taking reasonable precautions and enabling the children to experience more of the usual routines of school life (and childhood more generally) continues to be our priority.
In this spirit, I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new students and families, along with Meg London in Rm 12 and Riya Manghabai in Rm 24. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to see them all at our Whakatau welcome on Monday, which was the perfect way to embark on Term 2.
By now, you should have received a copy of our Key Dates for the term, which includes further opportunities to ‘Re-connect’, ‘Re-engage’ and ‘Restore’, in line with our Strategic Goals for the year.
We look forward to the opportunity to catch up with you soon around school or at one of our upcoming events!
