Shaughter-House Five does not do anything bad to the mind of the reader

The book starts out as the author telling a story about when he was in the war and some old war friends. Him and a friend go back to where they were POW's and meet a cab driver who used to be an enemy soldier. When they get back to the states, the author decides to write more books and visits a friend who could help, the other brings a few members of his family to show them around.
