Ke Ola Hou O Malu Manu

"the new life of Malu Manu" re-forestation project

3 Acres of old growth Pukiawe burnt

on June 18, 2012, a transformer blew, sparks lit a fire, fanned by crazy winds- The fire swept across a neglected protea fire, and giant Eucalyptus trees sent flames 100s of feet in the air- Thanks to awesome efforts - The Log Cabin still stands strong...

Reforestation updates

The last year has been spent cutting down damaged Eucalyptus trees, contouring the land, planting cover crop, and securing grant funds to manage the larger reforestation efforts. We will be planting 400 sandalwood, a'ali'i, ohia, mamane, u'lei and more in the coming months.
