This is your Captain Speaking!
Hello Birdneck Family,
I can't believe that winter break is already here. The first 4 months just flew by and we have so much to celebrate. Making accreditation was only the beginning. We will continue to see our students grow throughout the year and will have more celebrations in June when we see what they accomplish due to your hard work and dedication in supporting them. If we believe in our students, their potential is unlimited. Letting them know that we believe in them is the key to that success. I'd like to share with you an oldie but goodie! Last year I sent a video of teachers telling students they believe in them. The impact they had was unbelievable! You can find the video below. My challenge to you this week is to pick at least one student to share this opportunity with.

Schoology message from Department of School Leadership
As some of you might have heard, the school division is in the process of implementing a new comprehensive learning management system. The system, Schoology, is a cloud-based platform that will allow staff members to access class curriculum, assessments and homework dropboxes all from one single site. Currently, the Anchor Schools are field testing the system, but if you would like to learn more about Schoology, you can read about it now on Kaleidoscope. As you will see, there will be more information coming soon about how you can access and explore the system. In addition, you can also visit the Learning Management System page on vbcps.com to see more materials and information about Schoology.
