Webster Word
September 2018
From The Principal's Desk
Pick-Up: Our bell rings at 3:20 to dismiss students who are being picked up. Students will go to the FEMA shelter and wait to hear their name called so they can walk out to your car.
Breakfast: When students get to school in the morning, they go to the gym until the 7:55 bell rings. At that time they are dismissed to put things away and go to breakfast. Students need to be in the breakfast line by 8:15 so that they can eat and get to class on time: our day officially starts at 8:25. Please help us by making sure your child knows for sure if he/she is supposed to eat at school and if you drop your child off in the morning, he/she needs to be here by 8:10 so that he/she has plenty of time to eat breakfast. Thank you for your help!
Shoes at school: tennis shoes are the best shoes for school. We have pea gravel on our playground and they tend to bother kids with sandals on.
Reminder for drop off in the morning: please don't drop students off before 7:45. If that causes a problem for you to get to work on time, call Mrs. Mitchell to make other arrangements.
Notes from the Nurse
On another note Webster will have a health fair on October 11. We will be doing head checks, dental checks and vision and screenings on all second and third grade students. Additionally, all third grade students will also have a hearing screening as well. If your child fails a screening I will be notifying you with a letter within 1-2 weeks of the health fair. If your child comes home and tells you they failed a screening I just ask that you, please don’t call the next day asking because it takes me a few days to get all 400 screenings sorted out and put in order. I promise I will notify you as soon as possible. I do get the letters out to the students who failed a screening first.
It is so nice to see all of your amazing kids back at Webster. Thank You for all you do as parents. If you have any questions, please call me.
