Annual Appeal
Love and Money
Whatever the reason, we're all here together on the porch or in our cars huddled around our glowing screens like high-tech campers warming our hands at small fires. The limitations of rural living give us many of these unplanned opportunities to mix with our neighbors. We can't forget that we're all in this together. We see each other every day.
This spirit of community is at the heart of all we do at the library. We provide services for everyone: from the low-tech of book recommendations to the high-tech of computer classes; programs from preschool story time to osteo exercise. We are friendly and helpful to every person who comes through our doors. We find grants for ramps and automatic openers so everyone can get through our doors. We create outreach programs for the people who can't get to our doors.
The staff and volunteers love the library because it is such a wonderful vehicle for serving our community. We know you love the library because you keep coming back. And if love alone could keep the bills paid, we'd be all set. In the real world, however, we need money to keep the WiFi on, money for the friendly staff, money to keep doing the programs and money to create new ways to serve our community.
Please consider making a tax-deductible end-of-year donation to the library so we can keep spreading the love. This year, we are amazingly, wonderfully, fantastically fortunate to have an anonymous donor pledge to match the first ten thousand dollars we receive! Even if you haven't given in the past, this would be a great time to start. To make it easier, we've joined the 21st Century and can now accept donations online.
As 2017 comes to a close, we at the library would like to thank you for your continued support. Keep reading for a rundown of this year's highlights and 2018 plans.
With love,
Annie
