Progress Reports
In addition to a 3-week progress report that is issued by the school, all learners scoring 75% or below must receive a class-specific student report from the teacher. Grades at 75% or below are considered “at risk for six-week failure,” therefore a plan for success should be in place as we approach the second half of the six weeks.
If your child scored below a 70% on either the “Shooting an Elephant” or The Orphan Master’s Son Short Answer Responses, they are eligible for a revision (not to exceed 70%). Because these are the only assignments eligible for reassessment, this is the only opportunity to improve his/her grade for any work done at this point in the six weeks. Tutorials to complete this reassessment will be available on the following days:
Tuesday Morning (7:50-8:10): Butler C235
Wednesday Morning (7:50-8:10): Rose C227
Wednesday Afternoon (3:50-4:20): Butler C235
Thursday Afternoon (3:50-4:20): Neal C223
If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Neal.
If your child has a 75% or below, you should receive a printed progress report. Please sign and return this form with the attached progress report to the Mrs. Neal by Friday, October 28.
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
We will be reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding in the third six weeks. We will begin reading on or about Wednesday, November 9. All learners are expected to have a copy (print or digital) in class by this date.
Though there is not a specific version that is required as the text is all the same, the one pictured at the right is commonly read by our students.
