Principal's Message
ELK Family,
We have a huge week ahead of us. Yes, that is right!! It is the Battle of the Boot. Help us restock the shelves at the Harvest House by bringing canned or boxed food items to the Sigma House. We also have dress days each day this week, so students make sure you are showing your school spirit. I want to send a special recognition to our volleyball and football teams for sweeping there opponents this week and to Kevin Zheng for participating in an opportunity to mentor students at Clinkscale Elementary. Our students are doing some amazing things here at BHS and we are excited to have another great week.
Thank for all of your Support!
GO ELKS!

Elk Varsity game:
Each week, Burleson’s defense steps things up to another level.
Thursday night, the Elks turned in another standout defensive effort in a 44-0 District 5-5A Division II victory over Arlington Seguin at Wilemon Field.
For the third time this season, Burleson’s defense notched a shutout. The Elks defense has allowed two touchdowns this season in five games.
Burleson’s defense has not allowed a score in 12 quarters of play.
The win marked the Elks second consecutive season to start the season 5-0. Burleson is 3-0 in district play and takes on arch-rival Centennial next Friday at Burleson ISD Stadium.
Burleson limited Seguin (0-5, 0-3) to just six plays in its territory. All six of those plays came in in the fourth quarter. The Cougars did reach Burleson’s side of the field in the first quarter but weren’t able to run because a penalty moved the ball back into Seguin’s end of the field.
The Elks forced two turnovers and limited the Cougars to six yards rushing on 16 attempts. Seguin did pass for 131 yards on 32 attempts
Offensively, Burleson had a balanced attack. The Elks ran for 167 yards and threw for 161 yards.
Wide receiver Aden Anderson had a big night for Burleson. Anderson caught touchdown passes of 59, eight and four yards. The senior grabbed six passes for 92 yards.
Quarterback Jacob Amador completed 11 of 16 passes for 151 yards and three scores.
The Elks had three running back top six carries on the night. Jarrett Austin led Burleson in rushing with six carries for 77 yards including a one-yard touchdown run. Darrell Dorsey scored the Elks final touchdown on a one-yard. Dorsey finished with 51 yards rushing on seven attempts. Caleb Lewis carried nine times of 34 yards.
Placekicker Edgar Zaragoza got a workout Thursday night. The junior hit field goals of 31, 27 and 22 yards and also connected on all five point-after attempts.
