Congrats to our first ever HF-L OM team to go to the WORLD Championship! Team members are: Willa Jones, Kate Lighthouse, Stella Schaefer, Maisie Burdett and Betsy Burdett. We also want to congratulate the other amazing OM team: Ava DiDonno, Nolan Mueller, Isaac Cromwell, Caden Hassett, Julia Jensen, Elias Kittleson, and Bea Corey! Way to go, Cougars! We are so very proud of you!

We recognize that parents would like to be a part of our placement process. If you would like to give input into your child’s placement, please use this form rather than write a separate letter. HFL Summer Soccer Registration is OPEN! The HFL Recreational Soccer League is an organization that welcomes any child in the community who wants to have fun and learn soccer. Our season runs Monday and Wednesday evenings July 6th - August 1st on the field behind Manor School. See the attached flyer for more information and go to www.hfunited.org and click on the "HFL Recreational Soccer" tab to register.

LEGO Robotics Beginners for Grades 3-5. Class begins April 12 and runs Tuesday/Thursday 3:00 -4:00 through May 12. This class will introduce students to the basics of robotics and programming concepts. Working in pairs, students will use a LEGO Mindstorms education kit to learn how to program it to move and react to its environment using the Lab VIEW-based visual programming language, EV3-G.

Concepts taught and reinforced include programming skills, teamwork, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, perseverance, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

While we are very happy that Covid numbers have decreased, we are seeing quite an uptick in other illnesses. Please remember, if your child is sick, they should stay home until feeling well and symptoms have greatly improved. This includes nausea, stomach ache, diarrhea, sore throat, coughing and sneezing, and nasal congestion/runny noses. Additionally, students must be fever free, without fever reducing medication, for greater than 24 hours before returning to school. A negative Covid test is required for return to school after illness. We are now able to accept the results of rapid home tests, which should help with ease of testing. Thank you for working together to keep all of the kids in our district safe and healthy!

The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District will be hosting an informational webinar for K-8 parents on the implementation of Erin's Law. Erin's law is intended to help children, teachers, and parents in New York State schools identify sexual abuse, and to provide awareness, assistance, referral, or resource information for children and families who may be victims of child sexual abuse. During this webinar, the District will be joined by the Bivona Advocacy Center to review the requirements and answer any questions.

The webinar will take place on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
