Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 2 Issue 16 - 12/11/22
Greetings Clipper Nation!
We might have just a few days before break, but we still have a lot going on, so check out the bulletin and the entire message to ensure you don't miss out.
Just a few dates to highlight...
-Board meeting on the 13th
-Progress reports will go live on the 14th
-Food pantry drive-through on the 16th
The classes have been engaged in a Penny War, with the Freshman currently winning. The war has been extended through Wednesday at 1:10. Be sure to stop by the school store during lunch to help your class win.
Keeping our students and staff safe is the top priority for Wicomico County Public Schools, and we continuously strive to provide innovative tools and training to keep our school buildings as safe as possible. So you are aware: The installation of Emergency Response Shields in our school hallways is currently taking place throughout the county. An Emergency Response Shield is portable protective armor that hangs on the wall to be available when needed, much like a fire extinguisher. We thank Hardwire LLC of Pocomoke City for securing a federal grant so that all Lower Shore public schools, including ours, could receive and install Emergency Response Shields throughout their school at no cost to the school or school system.
This is the last message until the new year. I hope you have a wonderful winter break, and I look forward to the new year aboard the Clipper Ship.

College Essay Support
We have good news for seniors who are working on their college essays! Through the Title IV grant, Ms. Cahall and Mrs. Taylor will be available to review your college essays and provide feedback starting on Monday, October 3rd – Saturday, December 31st.
Here’s how it works: You will need to email the teacher you would like to work with letting them know you would like for them to review your essay. They will then send you information so that you can upload your essay, the writing prompt or question that you are responding to along with any questions or comments about the essay you have sent them. The teacher will add you in an assignment on Google Classroom where all communication about your essay will occur.
Contact information for Participating Teachers:
Mrs. Chelsea Taylor: chtaylor@wcboe.org
Ms. Jennifer Cahall: jcahall@wcboe.org
Of course if there is another teacher you would like to have review your essays you are welcome to contact them, but Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Cahall are the teachers that are part of this project. They are looking forward to reading your essays and supporting you through this process!

How to Stay in the Know?
The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
