Congratulations to Jill Sutton, Jenna Parrish, and Laura Blechle for being nominated for teacher of the year!

Jill Sutton was named our 2020-21 Teacher of the Year!

We are honored to announce Jill Sutton as Peine's Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Sutton began her career with Peine Ridge Elementary in 2013 as an Instructional Assistant and then, in 2014, took a 5th-grade teaching position where she has served since. Jill is always learning about new ways to incorporate technology into learning. She works hard to plan engaging lessons and loves to share her new findings with her colleagues. Not only does she work hard inside the classroom to support her students, she is also part of the district science curriculum team and just took on co-chair of Professional Development for Peine Ridge this year.

Jill is truly an exceptional educator who is dedicated, zealous, caring, and intentional with each of her students. She celebrates each child as an individual and works diligently to meet each student’s needs and makes them feel successful and proud.

Peine Ridge is proud to have Mrs. Jill Sutton representing their school as Teacher of the Year.

Due to our current situation with COVID 19, we will not be having winter parties as we typically do. Instead, our teachers will be embedding winter activities into their learning on Tuesday, December 22. Teachers will not be asking or allowing any parent volunteers on this day. We still will not allow visitors inside the building.

Science Fair Information

This year we will sponsor a Science Fair on February 3/4, 2021, for all students. We are encouraging students to participate in the fair and are asking you to support this valuable learning opportunity. The purpose of the Science Fair is to promote individual study, initiative, and achievement. Students are expected to assume as much responsibility for the project as possible. While students can seek help from various sources such as teachers, librarians, and parents, it is important that they understand the work they do.
Lost and Found will be cleaned out on December 21, 2020. Please have your child check it out and make sure they do not leave anything behind during break.

PBIS talk

This month we focused inside the classrooms on lessons of Gratitude and Thankfulness. Focusing on gratitude and thankfulness can change our mindset and help improve our moods. We are also working on the Peine 25 to become the best person we can be, inside and outside of the classroom. Let’s keep showing that Peine Pride.

Students are continuing to earn those House points. Altruismo is still in the lead but Amizade is in a very close second! There are several opportunities throughout the day to earn points for your House. Point totals change daily! Keep routing for your House and remember….We are Four Houses, One Family.

Remember that every Friday is House Day! Wear your House colors to show your school spirit! Count on Me!
