Winter Work Shadowing Programme
The best way to learn about potential career paths is to learn from those who know best. The University of St Andrews Careers Centre organises a Work Shadowing Programme whereby alumni, friends and staff of the University offer their time for you to shadow them at their place of work.
These shadow periods come in many forms, ranging from 1 week shadowing experiences, to informal chats over coffee, and all are unpaid. You must pay for any travel expenses yourself, but you may not have to stay in the UK to take advantage of this programme -- the Work Shadowing Programme is worldwide and over winter 2016 offered 230 opportunities with different hosts.
The programme itself has many branches, ranging from Career Conversations to Managers Work Shadowing - have a look below to see what these entail.
- You can register your interest with the Work Shadowing Programme by signing up to our mailing list. You'll receive updates and details of the opportunities on offer every Monday.
- This scheme is open to students in any year of study and runs during the winter, spring and summer breaks.
- If you have any questions about Work Shadowing, email Sam - workshad@.
See Workshadowing pages for full information.

UK residents are allocated a number automatically at the age of 16. However, European or International students will not have this number so will need to apply for one.
