September 2022 Edition

Welcome to "The Raider Lead" Newsletter
A Message from the Principal
Hello, Raider Family,
Welcome to the December edition of the Raider Lead school newsletter! We are excited to share our learning and leadership with you and prepare you for our big rocks this month.
We will be studying Habit 5: Seek First to Understand Then be Understood. This is the habit of listening to other people’s ideas and feelings. It’s trying to see things from their viewpoints. You can learn more about Habit 5 below by exploring our Home Habit Huddle activity with your family.
This month is short but filled with activities that you will not want to miss! Make sure you review the BIG ROCKS calendar below for all the details!
Let's practice habit 5 this month as we partner together to be amazing Raiders!

If you were not able to attend, then you will have an additional opportunity to "sign" with your student in January when we host our second Student-Led Conference night! Monthly Average for Absences in November
Our yearly average for absences was 9% for 2021-2022. We need to significantly reduce this percentage for the 2022-2023 school year. Research shows that students who are chronically absent from school perform much lower academically than their peers. Student attendance is critically important to student academic achievement. Please make every effort to ensure that your student(s) are at school on time each day ready to learn!
In November, our average for absences was 12%. There was an increase from October! Let's try to move this number down in December!
