NEWS FROM THE NEST
SPRING BREAK IS FINALLY HERE!
I hope you have a wonderful spring break! Get some rest, have some fun! Love you all!
Prom
Thank you to all of our prom committee members for a fun evening of dancing! The decorations were beautiful and the music and food were perfect. We appreciate your hard work and attention to detail!
Beware the Ides of March...
Ms. Kensey Edgar's students celebrated the Ides of March with a theme party including Little Ceasar's pizza and small toothpick swords in the cupcakes!
Key Club Visits Kiwanis
The 2017-18 Key Club officers attended a recent Kiwanis Club meeting. With them is Ms. Cindy Beethe who co-sponsors the club with Ms. Amy Ponder. We really appreciate all the extra time they commit to their club for the benefit of our students.
You would be surprised to know that almost every teacher in this building takes on additional extracurricular responsibilities. That says a lot about our awesome faculty members! We appreciate you!
Literary
Each year we participate in our region literary competition. The events include dramatic interpretation, choral events, and essay writing. While individual teachers prepare our students to compete, Mr. Tom Rinehart is responsible for handling the paperwork and coordinating all the travel and competition details. Thank you Mr. Rinehart for being such an outstanding Literary Coordinator!
Life Lessons
Kudos to Ms. Sharon Davis for her work in ensuring that we have quality entries for the many essay contests available to us, including the recent Laws of Life contest. She pushes out the competition requirements, encourages our teachers and students to participate, collects the writing samples, and sends everything off by the deadlines. We appreciate that she promotes writing and ensures that our students have the opportunity to be recognized at local, regional and state levels.
Spring Musical
Our Fine Arts department's spring musical, She Loves Me, was amazing! Thanks to our teachers for preparing our students to sing, dance and act! The cast was talented and fit their roles perfectly! Bravo!

You can’t make this stuff up...
Our PE students participate in the Pacer Test where they complete a timed run. The speed progressively increases which makes the test more difficult with each lap. Coach Wilhelm shared that during the last Pacer test, one of his students said,
"This is the PACEMAKER TEST! You run until you die!"
