2022 - 2023 School Year
Mr. Trey Martin, Principal
Dr. Mimi Gamel, 7th grade Assistant Principal
Dr. Renay Dixon, 6th grade Interim Assistant Principal
Lunar New Year is one of the most important celebrations of the year among East and Southeast Asian Cultures, including Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese Communities, among others. Lunar New Year is the beginning of a lunar calendar year. The term is sometimes used for the beginning of a year on the lunisolar calendar, which indicates both the moon phase and the time of the solar year. Lunisolar calendar is originated and celebrated in China as the Spring Festival and is observed by numerous nearby cultures of the East Asian cultural sphere. Lunar New Year festivals are also celebrated in the Hindu and Buddhist calendars of South and Southeast Asian.
Many countries around the world use the lunar calendar alongside the Gregorian calendar, for example, to observe days for festivals and rituals, and sometimes even birthdays. So Lunar New Year simply refers to new year celebrations wherever the lunar calendar is used.

The Deadline for Fulton County Schools Hardship Transfer Application is Feb. 28, 2023
Applications are available beginning January 1, 2023, for parents who wish to apply for a 2023-24 hardship transfer or to renew a current hardship to another Fulton County Schools (FCS) elementary, middle or high school.
Parents will use an online form, available through the school system’s website, to enter and submit their information. Hard copy applications are not required, with the exception of medical transfers which require pertinent medical provider’s signatures and documentation.
The deadline for submitting a transfer application is Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, by 4:30 p.m., with no exceptions or extensions granted. All requests must be received or postmarked by this date and time. In addition, school system employees who have children receiving an employee hardship transfer must renew their request.
The February 28 deadline applies to students and parents seeking a hardship transfer for medical reasons, curriculum differences, and child care situations or for employees’ children.
Schools participating in open enrollment, a separate transfer process that allows students to move to a school with available space, will be announced in early May.
Parents with questions or who need more information about hardship transfers can contact the FCS’ Student Assignment Office at 470-254-5550 or visit https://www.fultonschools.org/hardshiptransfers.
