Network Topologies

The Three Networks
There are three different networks called the bus, star and ring network.
The Bus Network
The bus network connects all computers to the server
Advantages of the bus network are:
It lets the computers run quickly and easily.
It is very easy to install.
It is cheap as it has few wires.
Disadvantages of the bus network
- There is one main wire which connects everything together. If this breaks , nothing will work as it has all been disconnected from the server.
The Star Network
The star network connects every piece of hardware in a star shape
The advantages of the star network
The star network is reliable and can be easily fixed
If a wire breaks it will only disconnect a computer instead of all of them
There will be no collisions
The disadvantages of the network
It is more difficult to install
It is expensive because it uses many wires
The Ring Network
the ring network runs in a circle
The advantages of a ring circuit
- The ring network wont have any collisions
- It can transfer data quickly and safely
The disvantages of the ring network
- If one wire breaks , it will mean that the whole server will be lost and it won't work
