Students return on January 7th

Math: We have been measuring away... from ingredients for make icing to mapping out 100 feet using different units of measure. Students have worked with perimeter and are beginning to explore polygons. We will continue this unit when we return from the break.

Reading: Students are asking questions to better understand text and using clues to make inferences.

Writing: Our most recent writing has been short personal narratives. I am seeing a lot of improvement with punctuation and sentence structure. Students are encouraged to write complete sentences in every unit of study.

Science: Electricity has been so much fun. Students have enjoyed building circuits and exploring to better understand static electricity. The chapter book, City of Ember has been a wonderful addition to the unit. We have also experimented with the water wheel in the science lab and made connections to the generator in the book.

Our class rotation will be in the science lab doing SNOW experiments. Thank you so much for sending in the supplies.
