THE WEEK'S NOTES
FAMILY NIGHT: As you know,
our Family Night is scheduled for March 21st and I have requested your presence. Please RSVP for the event here : www.tinyurl.com/SVDPFAMILYNIGHT
Reverse Raffle Decorations: Please see the email regarding the Reverse Raffle creatures.
LadiesAuxiliary Group and Confessions: Please note the schedules that were in your mailboxes this past week.
TEACHER IN-SERVICE DAY: The dates have been sheduled for 3/17, and 3/24 from 2:45 p.m. -3:45 p.m. in Ann Fallucco's room. ALL TEACHING STAFF IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND. 6 hours will be given on 3/17 for full participants.
STEM/ Project-Based Learning PD: As discussed at our past staff meetings, we are really running with STEM in mind and as the focus for our classroom instruction. One of the large components in STEM is project-based learning. There are SUMMER PD's that we have been given funding for through The University of Akron. I am asking for 3-4 people who are STEM ready and excited for this journey to begin the PBL experience this June.
The dates for the PBL training are:
PBL 1 : June 9th and June 10th (9:00 -3:00 @ Great Lakes Science Center)
PBL 2: June 15th - June 18th (9:00 - 3:00 @ Center for Innovation in STEM Education – Cleveland State University)
PBL 3: August 4th - August 6th (9:00-3:00 @ Center for Innovation in STEM Education – Cleveland State University)
This PD is very expensive and will be completely paid for you. I am looking for a team of 3 (one from each level (primary, intermediate, and Middle) to attend this training with me the summer. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested and available to attend this dates this summer. I assure you - this Training will be Mind- Blowing! ( I would like the same people to attend all 3.)
WALKTHROUGHS/OBSERVATION: Walkthroughs will continue this week. These may or may not be before your formal observation and these walkthroughs will continue throughout the end of the year. Remember there will be 2 in-formal walkthroughs and 1 formal observation for the remainder of this year. You will be emailed to schedule your formal observation.
PLC: We will have PLC on Thursday am during your planning.
FIP: Each of your have been given your FIP login and the assignment. Please be sure to have the Module 3 assignment done for our staff meeting on Aoril 20.
Here it the link to the FIP website:

SAFETY: Please make sure you are locking your doors when you leave your classroom, even for just a short time. You were very diligent of this at the very beginning of the year and I need the sense of safety to continue.
MASS PARTICIPATION: Please practice the responses for the mass and expect to hear them during mass. I notice some learners (and even some teachers!!!) not participating at all. Please be sure you are expecting their best!
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: K-8 will be participating in the church on Friday afternoons at 1:55 pm. We will dismiss school from the Church. Please make sure your learners are prepared. Leaving the Church, all learners should cross in front the school and either get on their bus or proceed down the car-line side walk.
WALKING THE WAY OF THE CROSS: As a school we will be “walking the way to the Cross” using paper stones to track our progress in the Corrigan Hall. Learners, staff, and parents are invited to visit Corrigan Hall and add a stone as we travel through Lent to get closer to Jesus. You will pick up these stones in the office on Monday of the week your class reads for Morning Gathering. During the week have your learners write how they are living Lent and giving themselves to others in prayer, almsgiving, and sacrifice. You can be creative with how they express their walk of Lent. Once all of your learners have finished, please return the cut-out stones to the office. The stones will be hung in the cafeteria and will travel a journey to the cross that hangs in there.
