Support Grassroots Motel Boxes

Our neighbor, the Grassroots Crisis Center, helps women and children in a time of crisis in multiple ways. One way they help, is by providing motel rooms when their own facility is full or if a family cannot make it to the center.

When they send a family to a motel room, they also provision that family with a selection of groceries to get them through a few days. These groceries include the basics: Bread, milk, canned tuna, cereal and more. Each bag costs approximately $100 to make sure the family can focus on their immediate needs out side of food.

To help Grassroots provide this important service, the Beth Shalom Religious School is beginning a Tzedekah challenge for its grades. We will try to raise money to fund 5 boxes of these groceries from now through the last day of school on June 7th.

The school will be broken into teams each of which will have the goal of raising $100 for a grocery box:

Kindergarten and First

Second and Sixth

3rd-5th Donna and Perry's Groups

3rd-5th Laura and Jane's groups

7th Grade

Over the next several weeks please being in tzedekah to fund this important project. The tzedekah brought in for Pajama day will also fund this effort.
