The Carleton Chronicle
A weekly update from Carleton Middle School
Thank you Mr. Waters
Today at Carleton, we have bid farewell to our custodian Mr. Waters. As Mr. Waters is getting ready to enter the next phase of his career, we want to take a moment to reflect on what Rick has meant to us for the past 12 years.
To our staff, Mr. Waters has been a stable force who is committed to a strong work ethic and making our building a cleaner, safer, and brighter place with the care he has put into our building.
To our students Mr. Waters, also meant a lot. Many students who interact with Mr. Waters say, "He's always so nice" or "The teacher who helps me with my locker" or "He greets me with a smile when I walk into the building." Mr. Waters has been someone who takes a moment to talk to kids, helps them with middle school struggles, welcomes them to school, and occasionally offers a gentle correction. Through his time with our kids, Mr. Waters has modeled compassion, dependability, hard work, kindness, and respectful interactions.
We want to thank Mr. Waters for everything he has taught us and our students. Thank you for being part of the Carleton family!
Thank you Motor City Choral
The Motor City Choral is a chorus group that does more than provide musical entertainment. Every year they select an organization or group to give charitable donations to as a way to give back to the community. Joseph Zwolinski is in the chorus and has a student that attends Carleton Middle School. With Joseph's suggestion and guidance, they decided to pick our MiCi program to support and make a donation to help our students. Please check out their website and as the kids say, "Give them some likes and thumbs up."

Happy to be on passing time
Bravo
Our Cadet and Concert band students earned straight Division I ratings from four separate judges last week at District XVI MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival hosted at Roseville Middle School. This is the highest rating possible and with this rating it allows the Carleton Band to play with other middle schools at an upcoming State MSBOA Band and Orchestra Festival with even higher standards (if they choose to attend). Congratulations on a job well done!
