Rocket Family Update - Week of January 10-14

Weekly Note from Mrs. Clement

January 9, 2022

Dear Rocket Families,

We have a busy week ahead with NWEA MAP assessments for all students Grades K-5. As I mentioned last week, these assessments are very important as they help us determine the daily interventions your child needs to excel. Please ensure your child is well rested, ARRIVES ON TIME and is ready to do their best! We will utilize the following schedule:

  • Monday - K-2 Reading MAP
  • Tuesday - 3-5 Reading MAP
  • Wednesday - K-2 Math MAP
  • Thursday - 3-5 Math MAP
  • Friday and the following week - Make-ups

In addition, students in grades K-3 will also complete middle of the year assessments for mClass.

Students will receive their report cards tomorrow, Monday, January 10th. Please review them carefully and contact your child's teacher should you have any questions or concerns.

Please join me in congratulating Bella Key, Rutherfordton Elementary's Spelling Bee School Winner! She will next compete in the Rutherford County Schools Spelling Bee on January 27.

Students who are participants of Rutherfordton Elementary's Book Challenge Team will begin practicing this week after school. Practices will be held on Tuesdays after school from 2:30-3:30 PM in the media center with Ms. Oliver.

Finally, please be reminded that next Monday, January 17, is a holiday for both staff and students in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Students and staff will have a 3 day weekend.

As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available by Dojo, email (mclement@rcsnc.org), or by phone – (828) 287-3778.

Best,

Michelle Clement
