Northwood News August 29

Be Smart. Be Kind. Be United. Be a Unicorn.

Thank you for Choosing Northwood!

Dear Northwood Community,

This week we will have our first early dismissal day for staff professional learning. School will be dismissed at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 30. Busses will be running and KIN after school care will begin at 12:30 pm. We will have early dismissal on the last Tuesday of each month, so please mark you calendar and make appropriate arrangements.

The dates are: Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 29, Jan. 31, Feb. 28, Mar. 28, Apr. 25, May 24 & 25. In addition there will be early dismissal on Sept. 14 & 15 and Jan. 11 & 12 for parent/teacher conferences.

As our 5th grade parents already know, our enrollment in 5th grade this year is not as high as was originally projected. It has been determined that it is necessary to consolidate our three 5th grade classes into two classes. Mrs. Goldsmith has been reassigned to teach at another North East ISD Elementary School. All of the students in Mrs. Goldsmith’s class have been assigned to either Mrs. Hildebrand’s or Ms. Lussier’s class. We love Mrs. Goldsmith and are sorry to see her leave Northwood, but know that she positively impact the lives of many students at El Dorado Elementary. We hope to have her rejoin the Northwood staff again soon!

This Thursday, September 1, we will have college shirt day! This will be the first of our monthly college shirt days, on the first Thursday of the month. We would love for you all to join in with showing us your favorite college or colleges.

Have a great week and thank you for your support!

Mrs. Harper
