Principal's Notes and Highlights
Happy Friday!
I shared with students about my trip to Japan this morning. It was an incredible journey and I was very fortunate to have a wonderful host family who took me to Kyoto and Ise to see historical landmarks and shrines. I also had the opportunity to stay in a traditional Japanese Inn and ate authentic Japanese cuisine. I'm proud to say I only used chopsticks and tried everything they gave me!
I also spent time at ten different schools in Miyoshi and visited with principals, teachers, and students. I shared pictures and stories about our school and learned first hand what it was like to be a student in Miyoshi, Japan.
My trip was filled with wonderful experiences, built friendships, and learned many life lessons I plan to use to help myself and our school improve. Upon reflection, I can honestly say there isn't one thing I wish I could have had a chance to do while I was on the trip. It was perfect.
I've included some photos and a few videos from my trip below. I took this photo (background) while touring one of the shrines in Kyoto, Japan. Kyoto was the original capital of Japan and is now home to 1.5 million people.

Red Ribbon Week October 23-27th-Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. Red Ribbon Week serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to commit to living drug free lives. This is done through drug prevention and education activities. This year, we will focus on making healthy choices for our minds and bodies. Students will participate in P.E. stations that focus on decision making, healthy activities and teamwork. Students will receive red ribbons once they have participated in P.E class.

CSA Choir Carwash
Has someone written "Wash Me" on your car? Have you parked under the bird's favorite tree? Did you drive by someone getting mud all over your car? Well, worry no more. The CSA Choir is selling e-washes for Crew Carwash during the entire month of October. You can buy as many as you want, and they never expire, so buy 12 so you can treat your car to a carwash each month. Half of the proceeds goes directly to the CSA Choir, so buying a $16 Works carwash gives the choir $8 or a regular carwash at $9 gives the choir $4.50. With Christmas coming up, buy carwashes for family and friends. The e-washes are good at all Crew Carwashes, so if you know someone in another city where there is a Crew Carwash, they are able to use them. Help support the CSA Choir by purchasing e-washes through Crew Carwash. Simply go to the following website starting on Sunday through the end of October:
