The Bluejay

January 2020

Welcome back!

It was so great to see all of the happy, smiling faces come through our doors last week! I hope everyone enjoyed their time off during our break. We look forward to another great semester.

Progress reports:

  • 2nd quarter progress reports were sent home on Friday.
  • Students will be finishing up NWEA Reading and Math testing this week. You will receive another progress report addressing your student's NWEA scores this Friday.

End of the day routines:

Notice of end of the day changes must be received in the appropriate office no later than 2:00 p.m. (12:00 p.m. on early release Fridays) to ensure communication to the student. Messages must be accurately logged and delivered to each student with end-of-day changes and any messages received after the cutoff time of 2:00 negatively affects our ability to do so.

Please note that we must receive an email, phone call or note from home in order to make these changes. We will not rely on the student to deliver a verbal change to the teacher or the office. The phone number to the PK-2 office is 743-4810. Ms. Joetta's email address is

Please note these guidelines have already been in place for the safety of our students, and this is a reminder that the cutoff time will be strictly enforced moving forward.

Thank you for your partnership regarding this matter.

Health Policy

Flu season is here! Please help us reduce the spread of germs and illnesses by modeling and practicing healthy hygiene practices with your children (hand washing, cover your cough, etc.). We follow the Center for Disease Control recommendations and guidelines.

Students should stay home until at least 24 hours AFTER their symptoms including but not limited to vomiting, diarrhea or fever* (temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 37.8 degrees Celsius or higher) is gone. Temperature should be measured without WITHOUT ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

When visiting your healthcare provider, please ask for a doctor's note outlining directions on when it is okay for your student to return to school. Please submit this to the school nurse.
