Wheely Great Week
We continued with our transportation theme and also did some Valentines crafts. On Wednesday, a police officer came to school with his police car! We got to sit in the back of the car and check out his equipment. With our friends from Room 15, we played in our fishing dramatic play area, where we took turns getting in the boat and using our poles/nets to catch colored fish on the rug.
This week in speech rotations, we continued talking about different types of transportation. We did an activity where we had to decide if the transportation vehicle went in the sky, in the water, or on the road. We also worked on pre-academic concepts big and small by identifying and labeling big and small types of transportation. During P.E., we played musical hearts. Each of the hearts had a different motor movement (e.g., march, twist, jump) so when the music stopped, the students landed on one heart and did the corresponding movement. We also played freeze dance to work on stopping/freezing our bodies!
We had a new instructional assistant begin this week - welcome, Ruth!
